Mac Jones

The Southeastern Conference has named its weekly award for the fifth week of the SEC season. Alabama junior quarterback Mac Jones was named Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week and the third time this season. Jones shares the award with Auburn receiver and Paul W. Bryant High School alum, Seth Williams.

The Alabama offense also extended its scoring record for consecutive games with a score to 260 games. The last time that Alabama was held off the scoreboard was back in 2000 against Auburn in a 9-0 loss.

Alabama takes on Tennessee this Saturday as the two schools renew their annual rivalry. The Crimson Tide is riding high on a four game winning streak after defeating Georgia last season 41-24. The Vols are looking to bounce back after losing its last two games to SEC East opponents Georgia and Kentucky.

After a massive performance, leading the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide past the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs 41-24, Alabama quarterback Mac Jones was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week.

Should Jones and his compliment of passing weapons of DeVonta Smith, Jaylen Waddle and John Metchie III continue to connect for deep passes the group could propel the Tide to a historic season as Burrow did for the Tigers last year.

After waiting his turn for three seasons, Mac Jones finally has the opportunity to be Alabama's starting quarterback.

The Alabama Crimson Tide take on the Missouri Tigers at 6 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 26 to kickoff the season. The SEC added Missouri to their schedule after opting to play a conference only schedule.

Bryce Young is the future of the Crimson Tide, but Mac Jones is the present. We have to accept that.
