Tips to Get Your Vote Counted in November
There is one thing about me; I love the whole process of voting. I remember being a kid and watching my parents go vote faithfully. My mother would often remind me while she was driving to the polls about the Women’s Suffrage movement. I can still hear her saying, “Mary, remember - women didn’t even have the right to vote until 1920.” According to History Channel, “The 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution granted American women the right to vote, a right known as women’s suffrage, and was ratified on August 18, 1920, ending almost a century of protest.” Why would anyone be prevented from voting always confused me as a kid and even as an adult. Imagine my shock when I found out as a kid when other groups were not allowed to vote. I believe that is what sparked my interest in the whole voting process.
