We Need God In America Again
That's what I'm thinking tonight after another horrible shooting at an elementary school.
The dust has not settled yet, and as of press time we know that 19 children were murdered this afternoon. School only has two days left.
It has been chaos down at Robb Elementary, so the numbers could rise overnight.
I posted on Facebook tonight, on my personal page.I immediately caught grief from someone. Here's the post.
I'm gonna be using lots of direct quotes from a musical artist named Carman, and his song "America Again".
It's not a political leader that will prevent this from happening in Alabama or anywhere else.
No political policy change is gonna impact the young, cold hearts behind these mass murder events.
We need GOD in America again.
We are sick spiritually in this country. We think we are capable of handling all of life on our own. NO GOD NEEDED is the message we send in America in 2022.
How well have things gone since we chased God out of schools, the White House and so many other facets of American life?
In the 1940's and '50's discipline reports from schoolsshow the top problems were chewing gum and talking.
How is that looking in 2022? Not very good.
During the first few decades of the 20th century we seldom had reports of any violence in the classroom. If we did, it was usually a disgruntled ex-husband shooting his ex-wife who happened to be a teacher.
August 1, 1966
Charles Whitman was the first to open fire on a mass group of students at the University of Texas-Austin.
16 people were killed that day.
In 1974, a school shooting in Olean, NY killed 3 and wounded 11.
A few more happened in the 1980's but EVERYTHING changed in April of 1999.
Columbine High School with Eric & Dylan attacking classmates. They even asked several students "Do you believe in God?" just before killimg any student that answered YES.
*Again, I use the lyrics of Carman's "America Again" for my next point.
Of the 55 men who formed the Constitution
Fifty-two were active members of their church.Founding fathers like Noah Webster who wrote the first dictionary
Could literally quote the Bible chapter and verse.James Madison said, "We've staked our future on our ability to fallow
The Ten Commandments with all our heart".These men believed you couldn't even call yourself an American
If you subvert the Word of God.In his farewell address, Washington said, "You can't have
National morality apart from religious principle, " and it's true
Our children now have high levels of anxiety when they head to these war zones we call public schools each morning.
