Spann noted that “the air becomes unstable Tuesday, and a few strong, possibly severe thunderstorms, could develop over parts of North and West Alabama, where SPC has defined a risk on their “Day 4” outlook.”

We are closely monitoring this weather situation and will bring you updates as needed. Spann also mentioned that “another organized round of rain and storms is likely by Thursday night and Friday.”

The big concern right now is the influx of rain and flooding issues that may occur. Spann noted that “some flooding is possible over the latter half of the week with saturated soil conditions… rain amounts of 4-6” are forecasts over the northern third of the state, with 2-3” for places like Tuscaloosa/Birmingham/Anniston/Gadsden.
