This bar is one of Tuscaloosa's most popular joints. Once voted as one of the best college beer bars in America by Men's Health Magazine, Alcove offers a laid back atmosphere that is perfect for any college student that doesn't want to be around the crazy party scene. Alcove was Tuscaloosa's first smoke-free bar back in 2009, setting it apart from the rest. Today, Alcove still stands as one of Tuscaloosa's most beloved bars.
If you're looking for a bar with a selection of its own unique cocktails, head over to Catch 22. The cocktail menu is short, sweet and seasonal. You can expect some interesting combinations, but only during certain times of the year. Catch 22 has drink specials so pay attention to it's Facebook page where they post about them!
Opened in 2012, Druid City Brewing Company is Tuscaloosa's first brewery. At Druid City Brewing's Taproom, you can expect to find both indoor and outdoor seating, a cornhole set up and a vinyl selection for you to choose from while you sip on some locally brewed beer. So head down to Druid City Brewing to enjoy some of Tuscaloosa's first and best locally brewed beers.
For those of you looking for a more upbeat, energetic bar, Egan's is just the place. Egan's is known for its "dive bar" atmosphere and if you're like me, you have no clue what a dive bar really is. After some research, I cam to conclusion that a dive bar is considered to be a more affordable bar than your typical nightclub while offering a traditional drink menu along with a large social gathering. Egan's is exactly that and then some - but in a good way of course!
