Mellow Mushroom Launches ‘A Pie for A Pie’ Program to Benefit West Alabama Food Bank and VA Medical Center
Mellow Mushroom Tuscaloosa is launching a new fundraiser aimed at giving back to first responders and those in need during the novel Coronavirus pandemic. Dubbed "A Pie for A Pie," the fundraiser will give back to two great local organizations. For every pizza sold at Mellow Mushroom in Tuscaloosa this Thursday, July 16th, a pie will be donated to the West Alabama Food Bank and the VA Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, to feed homeless veterans and those struggling with food insecurity.
“Mellow is delighted to launch A Pie for A Pie to help those within our local community,” said Andy Croy, Mellow Mushroom Tuscaloosa store owner. “We are grateful to so many people who have helped us survive this unprecedented time.”
Partnering with Mellow Mushroom to make the program possible is the National Mushroom Council, and HGI.
“At Mellow Mushroom, our local owner operators have built strong community connections, which has played a big role in the success of Mellow Mushroom over the years,” said Anne Mejia, Vice President of Brand Development for Mellow Mushroom. “The strength of this new giving program lies in the ability for our owners to contribute where it matters most in their hometowns.”
