This Tuscaloosa Art Museum is a Hidden Treasure
This art collection was once considered to be one of the greatest private collections in America, and now it's available for you to see. Have you visited this hidden Tuscaloosa treasure?
The Tuscaloosa Museum of Art features works from John Singer Sargent, Andrew Wyeth, Jamie Wyeth, Edward Hicks, and many more. The incredible collection of art was amassed by Tuscaloosa's own Jack Warner. The late Mr. Warner curated his collection of over 1,000 pieces of art over several decades as investments for the Gulf States Paper Company, now known as The Westervelt Company.
The Westervelt Company now shares its collection with the public to further arts education in the community. In addition to the stunning collection, visitors can view the pristine grounds of the company's headquarters, decorated in an impressive Japanese style.
The Tuscaloosa Museum of Art is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Check out the museum's website for more information.
