Aliens in Pennsylvania? Well…not exactly.

Yes there is more to this story, so don't worry, we're not being invaded by other worldly creatures just yet!

Residents in Clinton County, Pennsylvania were woken up to quite a shock when a couple, Jesse Shields and Katherine McCloskey began shooting at they believed were aliens. They eventually ran into a neighbor's home, with the neighbor quickly seized the gun from them.

Shields then asked if he could take a shower, to "get the goo off of him that was burning his skin." At this point, the police were called. As you can imagine, this is where the truth started to become clear.

WNEP in Pennsylvania reports that the couple were under the influence of bath salts and they confused the "aliens" for fireflies. They were quickly arrested.

Thank goodness that homeowner got the gun away from them, otherwise things could have been much worse.
