It’s Snowing in Portions of West Alabama and Extremely Cold
As Alabamians are waking up in portions of the Yellowhammer state, you could be greeted with a dusting of snow on top of your cars and yards. The big concern this morning is with the wind chills, cold temperatures, and black ice.
It has been snowing in West Alabama on and off all night. Currently, at Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa off Skyland Boulevard, there are light flurries and our back parking lot is covered in snow with ice underneath.
Our morning crews have arrived safely but said roads are sketchy and icy. Travel is discouraged this morning. Our recommendation is to stay off the roads.
The National Weather Service Birmingham notes that the “cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.” There is a Wind Chill Advisory in place until 9 am for the following counties:
Fayette
Greene
