Tuscaloosa Homeowner Holds Thief At Gunpoint
A man who tried to rob a Tuscaloosa residence got quite a surprise early Tuesday Morning, when he encounter the homeowner who happened to be armed.
John Tyler McDonald, 26, was charged with second-degree burglary, after he was picked up at the Woodland Forrest home he attempted to rob.
Authorities say that they received a 911 call at approximately 4:25 am. The woman on the phone said that she had heard a sound in her basement and discovered that a man was down there. When police arrived at the home a few minutes later, the woman's husband was holding McDonald at bay by gunpoint.
Tuscaloosa Police also believe that McDonald could be responsible for other home break-ins in the area, and possibly be facing more criminal charges.
