Your Guide to Free Stuff in West Alabama on July 4th!

FREE. Isn’t it the BEST word in the English language?

Yes, and with gas prices at $75 a gallon (well, that’s what it feels like) and groceries being so freaking expensive, it’s not even funny.

If you like free things and/or great deals, this is for you.

Every holiday I notice more businesses doing this stuff and it’s about time you get it all in one place. So here we go:

1) Applebee’s

Applebee's locations are offering $5 “Star Spangled Sips.” Humongous drinks for the holiday weekend are what this deal is all about!

The BEST part of the deal is that on the 4th, ALL KIDS EAT FOR FREE.

2) Auntie Anne’s

Buy one of those big pretzels and they will give you another one for FREE with the AUNTIE ANNES app and the code “NOPOPCORN.”

3) Hungry Howie’s

Pizza is pretty All-American in my view.
The Hungry Howie’s which is, of course,

known for their flavored crust pizza is offering $0.99 Howie Bread with any online carry-out order of $15 or more with code "JULY4."

4) Pieology

Pieology is celebrating independence from cooking from July 2 through July 4 with $5 off any $30 order, both in-store and online, using the code “50FF30JULY4.”

5) Sonic

FREE cheeseburgers are all you need to say and I am so there. Get a free burger, with any purchase from July 2-4.

6) The Honey Baked Ham Store

For July 4, HoneyBaked is offering 40% off with promo code “941981,” for shipping orders only. The sale ends July 7 at 10:59 CST.

7) Fresh Market

They are celebrating their 40th anniversary and the 4th of July with this offer:

A summer Celebration Meal for two, which includes first-cut New York strip steaks, asparagus with diced red peppers, and a sea salt steamer bag, loaded twice-baked potatoes, and a shrimp cocktail tray for $40. Ordering ends July 1 at 1 p.m. CST and pickup runs through July 4.

8) Krispy Kreme

Now this list is getting good. Any customer that wears red, white and blue receives a FREE doughnut of their choice, and that’s not all. If you buy a dozen glazed donuts you get a free dozen from today, July 1-4.

9) Cracker Barrel

OK, I was wrong this is probably where I am headed.

Get yourself an order on crackerbarrel.com including a Southern Fried Chicken Family Meal Basket for curbside pickup or delivery, during the weekend of July 4th and receive a free family-size side of Bacon Baked Beans.

10) Metro Diner

I LOVE Metro. I mean, come on, they created STRAWBERRY BUTTER for the Chicken & Waffles (which are pretty dang good) so that’s worth loving where I come from.

Now through July 4, you can enjoy a Holy Davoli Burger for only $14.99.

The entrée comes with a half-pound Angus burger, hickory smoked bacon and lettuce slaw between two grilled cheese sandwiches stuffed with American cheese, tomato and hickory smoked bacon.

But get to your local Metro Diner before 3 p.m. on the 4th, since it will be closing early in observance of Independence Day.

Most of these have locations in West Alabama and they are open for the 4th of July! Enjoy the weekend and please try not to blow a finger off.
